Editorial Policy
How Cryptopian News reports on cryptocurrency, blockchain, Web3 and the digital economy — and the standards we expect every piece of content to meet.
Trust must be earned through accurate reporting, transparent sourcing, clear disclosures and a willingness to correct mistakes. This policy describes the standards Cryptopian News aims to apply to its editorial work. Our team and contributors are responsible for upholding these principles.
Our mission
Cryptopian News is a digital publication focused on cryptocurrency, blockchain technology, decentralized finance (DeFi), Web3, digital assets, financial technology and developments shaping the digital economy.
We aim to make complex subjects understandable without overlooking the risks, uncertainty and competing perspectives involved. Our purpose is to help readers make sense of important developments through timely reporting, meaningful context and responsible analysis.
Editorial independence
Editorial decisions should be guided by newsworthiness, evidence, relevance and the public interest — not by a source’s financial influence or a project’s marketing objectives.
We distinguish independent reporting from advertising, paid features, press releases and opinion content. Commercial partnerships do not guarantee favorable news coverage or immunity from legitimate scrutiny.
Accuracy and fact-checking
Our standard is to verify material claims before publication, with particular care for price data, financial figures, dates, regulatory developments, technical claims and quotations. We seek primary documents and direct evidence wherever practical.
- Check important claims against original announcements, official filings, reliable data or multiple independent sources when needed.
- Separate established facts from estimates, forecasts, allegations and speculation.
- Give enough context to avoid creating a misleading impression.
- Identify significant uncertainty or limitations when information cannot be independently confirmed.
We value speed, but not at the expense of accuracy. Breaking stories may be updated as more facts become available.
Sources and attribution
We rely where possible on identifiable, credible sources such as regulatory agencies, company statements, public records, blockchain explorers, financial disclosures, research publications, interviews and firsthand evidence.
We attribute reporting and link to underlying documents when appropriate. Anonymous sourcing should be exceptional, justified by a meaningful need for confidentiality, and subject to additional scrutiny. A source’s assertions are not automatically presented as verified facts.
Original reporting, attribution and copyright
Our editorial goal is to publish useful original work, whether through direct reporting, independent analysis, verification, explanation or added context. Rewriting another outlet’s coverage without meaningful value or proper attribution does not meet that standard.
Fabricated sources, invented quotations, plagiarism and the unauthorized use of copyrighted material are prohibited. Licensed, syndicated and externally submitted content must be handled according to applicable permissions and appropriately identified.
Cryptocurrency and financial reporting
Digital asset markets can be volatile, speculative and vulnerable to manipulation. Our reporting should reflect those risks and avoid promoting guaranteed returns, artificially urgent investment claims or unsupported price predictions.
We distinguish on-chain observations from interpretations, identify the timing and source of market figures when material, and make clear that forecasts are uncertain. We do not knowingly publish fabricated trading activity, deceptive token promotion, or pump-and-dump material.
Content published on Cryptopian News is for informational and educational purposes and does not constitute personalized investment, financial, tax or legal advice.
Sponsored content and advertising
Cryptopian News may accept advertising, paid press releases, sponsored articles, project spotlights and other commercial partnerships. Paid material must be clearly distinguishable from independent editorial coverage through visible labels such as Sponsored Content, Advertisement or Paid Partnership, as applicable.
Sponsored content is not an independent editorial endorsement. We may review submissions for factual accuracy, misleading claims, legality and suitability, and reserve the right to request changes or decline publication. Payment does not purchase a positive independent review or editorial control over unrelated reporting.
Where relevant, affiliate links or other material commercial relationships should also be disclosed clearly to readers.
Artificial intelligence and human oversight
AI tools may assist with research organization, transcription, language editing, illustrations or production tasks. They are not substitutes for reliable sources or accountable editorial judgment.
AI-assisted factual claims, names, data and quotations require appropriate checking. We do not knowingly publish fictitious interviews, invented sources, or synthetic content presented deceptively as genuine reporting. Materially altered or AI-generated media must be clearly identified when readers could otherwise mistake it for documentary evidence.
Responsibility for published material remains with the publication and its contributors.
Headlines, images and visual integrity
Headlines and thumbnails should accurately reflect the story. We avoid misleading clickbait, false implications and sensational claims unsupported by the article itself.
Charts should present data in context. Illustrations, concept art and AI-generated visuals must not be misleadingly presented as photos of real events. Images must be used with appropriate rights or permissions.
Opinions, analysis and contributors
Commentary, opinion, market analysis and externally contributed articles should be clearly differentiated from straight news reporting. The views of guest authors or quoted experts do not necessarily represent those of Cryptopian News.
Contributors are expected to disclose material relationships relevant to their subject matter, and their submissions remain subject to editorial review.
Conflicts of interest
Writers and editors should disclose relevant token holdings, compensation, consulting work or other financial and business relationships that might affect their coverage. We aim to manage significant conflicts through disclosure, reassignment or other appropriate editorial measures.
Fairness and right of response
We distinguish allegations from proven findings and aim to provide relevant context and accurately represent differing positions. When reporting serious allegations about identifiable people or organizations, we seek their response when reasonably practical. Relevant responses received after publication may be included in an update.
Corrections, clarifications and updates
We welcome credible reports of errors. When a material factual mistake is established, we aim to correct it promptly and explain significant corrections in an appropriate notice on the article. Clarifications may be added where wording was technically correct but misleading or incomplete.
Developing stories may receive updates as new facts emerge. We avoid silently changing the substance of published reporting in ways that obscure a material correction. Content removal is considered case by case, including for legal, safety or serious accuracy concerns.
To request a correction, send the article URL, the disputed statement and supporting evidence to [email protected].
Privacy and responsible reporting
We aim to balance public-interest reporting with the privacy, dignity and safety of individuals. Sensitive or private information should be included only where a legitimate editorial need justifies disclosure. We do not endorse harassment, doxxing or unnecessary exposure of personal data.
Editorial review and accountability
Our review process aims to assess content for accuracy, sourcing, clarity, originality, headline integrity, relevant disclosures and compliance with these standards. The level of review may vary depending on the complexity and risk of a story.
This policy may evolve as our publication and the digital asset industry develop. Significant changes will be reflected on this page. Readers are encouraged to challenge inaccuracies and share constructive feedback.
